Keynote Speakers Rachel French

Director of Professional Learning International and certified Independent Concept-Based Consultant, workshop facilitator, trainer, and author, Rachel French, MA Ed. has led innovative curriculum design and transformed how educators teach and students learn for over 12 years. Mentored by the founders of Concept-Based Curriculum themselves, Dr. H Lynn Erickson and Dr. Lois A. Lanning, Rachel was entrusted with the exclusive worldwide rights to be the sole provider of the Erickson and Lanning Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction (CBCI) Trainer Certification Institute — the certification that kick-started her journey into Concept-Based Inquiry. Rachel French, Dr. Lynn Erickson, and Dr. Lois Lanning have co-authored the second edition of ‘Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction for the Thinking Classroom,’ 2017, and Carla Marschall and Rachel French co-authored ‘Concept-Based Inquiry in Action’ (2018). Rachel’s mission is to help other educators transform their classrooms and schools by accessing leading professional development, planning and implementing Concept-Based Inquiry units, and adopting a Concept-Based curriculum development approach.

90-minute Live Lesson

This session offers the unique opportunity to conduct a full concept-based learning lesson in real-time. Following the lesson, there will be an in-depth debrief where you can discuss the methodology, strategies, and outcomes. This will be followed by a Q&A segment, allowing participants to ask specific questions and gain further insights into the practical applications of concept-based learning.

90-minute Break-out Session

These sessions can be either interactive or presentation-style, providing flexibility in how content is delivered. Each session will conclude with a Q&A segment, fostering an engaging and dynamic environment. Participants will have the chance to delve deeper into the topic, discuss key points, and clarify any uncertainties, enhancing their overall learning experience.

60-minute Panel Discussion

This interactive session will provide a platform for attendees to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and explore innovative approaches to this educational method. Don't miss this opportunity to deepen your understanding and connect with fellow educators and professionals.
