Our school is an educational institution located in Jiaxing, near Shanghai, established in April 2016 with substantial support from the Suzhou Industrial Park government. It offers continuous education from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and is the first school purpose-built to serve the children of overseas Chinese returnees. Our school expanded its facilities significantly, covering a 66-acre site with 50,000 square meters of construction space to accommodate up to 2,300 students. The school follows a bilingual education approach in small classes with no more than 24 students per class.
Our school offers excellent facilities and an internationalized curriculum to meet the needs of its diverse student population. The school combines elements of the Chinese National Curriculum with an inquiry-based teaching model, earning acclaim for its teaching quality and achievements. Our school became authorized as an IB DP (Diploma Programme) school in May 2018, followed by authorization as an IB PYP (Primary Years Programme) school in August 2020 and as an IB MYP (Middle Years Programme) school in June 2022. The school is recognized for its academic excellence and has been listed among the top international schools in China.
As of August 2022, our school had over 2,000 students and approximately 300 full-time teachers, with over one-third coming from 19 different countries and regions. • Prepare an Academic year plan or subject teaching handbook with a syllabus orientation teaching progress and assessment strategies.
• Planning appropriate written curriculum documents as per program needs of IBDP, A Level, or IGCSE, e.g, lesson plans or teaching PPTs
• Checking attendance every period and care for the safety and well-being of all students
• Delivering high-quality Teaching and Learning experiences in ENGLISH as a primary language of instruction. (Where appropriate, teachers may support with bi-lingual access to curriculum)
• To create relevant and authentic formative and summative assessment tasks
• To coordinate with parents about student progress
• To contribute to the wider school community by helping showcase of student learning and actively participating in exhibitions, field trips, competitions, judging, house events, and so on.
• To prepare and administer all forms of internal and external examinations: Mid-term, End of Semester, Mock, and global exams.
• The amount of homework for each exam subject is about 3 hours of homework per week.
• Teachers are expected to support student success through participation in evening study one evening each week, for no less than 120 minutes (2 hours, equivalent to 2 day-time teaching periods)
• Evening study may include HW support, additional direct instruction (may not be used as curriculum Time), supporting academic competitions or other activities as approved by the programme coordinator.
