About Job:

The EAL/Language Acquisition teacher is a member of the teaching team and works closely with mainstream teachers.
This full time load incorporates attending all planning meetings and following and updating the curriculum.

• Teach PYP Language Acquisition in the lower grades as required.
• Provide direct support for target EAL students, working in partnership with mainstream staff
• Provide push-in language support as required.
• Monitor ongoing progress and assess EAL students
• Have an active role in the wider curriculum, participating in extra-curricular activities and Week Without Walls trips
• Maintain records of student work and progress through Learning/Language Profiles.
• Create student development plans for reaching mainstream education.

Other Responsibilities
• Participate in the school’s staff development program
• Engage actively with the school’s performance management program
• Work as a member of a team, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school
• Communicate, where necessary with parents and external bodies, following school policies
• Attend Open Evenings, Three-Way Conferences, Student-Led Conferences

About You:

• A Bachelor’s degree in English/ Linguistics or Language Arts.
• 1-2 years-experience in EAL teaching is an asset.

• Salary Range: RMB 27K-40K/month before tax
