• Lead the Heads of PE for each school
• Oversee line-management of all PE staff, both academic and professional support staff
• Lead, plan and produce the annual PE & Sports calendar of events
• Actively encourage student participation in PE & sporting activities
• Review and order resources as appropriate, including team kits
• Maintain the teaching environments and general resources to a high standard
• Ensure the Sports Centre is always presented to the highest standard
• Lead the PE & Sport ambassadors in evolving student agency, so that students take greater ownership of and responsibility for their own learning journeys in the PE & Sport
• Lead in short-listing and interviewing candidates for new positions in the department
• Induct and support new colleagues, supply staff or trainee teachers in the subject
• Responsibility for the internal and external marketing/promotion of the PE & Sport, including: contributions to the newsletter, events, school publicity, and departmental literature
• Advise on and organise subject-specific prize winners for annual Speech Day
